I dette forløb skal klassen stifte bekendtskab med forskellige dele af den engelsktalende verden. Forløbet er ment som en bred introduktion hvorfor der ikke vil blive gået i dybden med de enkelte lande,
Der er også en sproglig vinkel idet det vil være oplagt at undersøge leksikale, udtalemæssige og grammatiske forskelle mellem de forskellige lande og aktivt lade eleverne arbejde med dette, herunder har vi undersøgt engelsk som Lingua Franca
Eleverne skal læse en række forskellige fiktive og ikke-fiktive tekster i forskellige genrer, fra forskellige lande, fx en blog, en tale, et digt, en short story, en nyhedsartikel. På denne måde er der også mulighed for at introducere forskellige analysebegreber og komme ind på forventninger, begrænsninger og muligheder ved de forskellige genrer.
Hvert modul i forløbet starter med et oplæg. Der skal fokuseres på både historiske, kulturelle og sproglige forskelle. Helst også gerne forskellige genrer og evt. introduktion til forskellige metoder.
Vi har løbende arbejdet med grammatik og sprogtilegnelse gennem minlæring.dk og Gyldendals online ordbøger.
Essaygenren blev introduceret i forbindelse med analysearbejdet med novellen Karma

Climate change - facts, politics and fiction EXAM
Vi har arbejdet med både fiktion og non-fiktion. Metodisk har vi både anvendt litterær analyse og retorisk analyse. Som en del af forløbet har vi også arbejdet med kapitel 6 i Basal Videnskabsteori - hvor der har været fokus på humanistisk og hermeneutisk metode. Forløbet har haft fem nedslag
1: Facts (om klimaforandringer og konsekvenserne heraf) og hvordan fakta fremstilles med sproglig og stilistisk autoritet
2: Politics: Naomi Klein (selvom hun er ativistisk, lægger artiklen mellem fakta og holdning.). Barack Obama tale ved COP21 i Paris.
3: Eco-literature/poetry: vi har læst en cli-fi novellen “Survivor Syndrome” (som de også skriver et essay om) og de har læst digtet Polar Bear af Jeanette Winterson. Hvordan kan litteratur redde klimaet?
4: Eco-anxiety: artikler fra TIME og New York Post med forskellige vinkler på fænomenet. Arbejde med TikTok og hashtagget #ecoanxiety - undersøge hvordan det tales og kommenteres på fænomenet på sociale medier.
5: Climate-skepticism/denialism: hvem benægter og hvorfor og hvordan, skepticisme og konspirationsteorier. Forskellige grader af klimabenægtelse (se powerpoint 6/12 2023). Donald Trump trækker USA ud af Paris aftalen.

What we Talk about when we Talk about Love (EXAM)
Vi har læst Raymond Carvers novellesamling "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love" som værk. Der har været fokus på Carvers minimalistiske skrivestil og og på de temaer som kan identificeres på tværs af novellerne: relationships, alcoholism, masculinity, uncertainty. Vi læste også to versioner af slutningen på novellen "Tell the women we're going", nemlig Carvers originale og den kraftigt redigerede udgave af Gordon Lish, som er den, der er i værket vi har læst.

Forløb om Afrika og afrikansk-engelsk litteratur, primært ned fokus på Nigeria. Vi har i forløbet gradvist arbejdet os imod en postkolonial forståelse og læsning af afrikansk litteratur, fx med begreberne "representation", "hybrid identity" og "the Afropolitan"
Den sidste del af forløbet havde fokus op "diasporic writing" hvor der var fokus på fremstillingen af immigrationsoplevelsen og dens fokus på kontrast/balance mellem ude/hjem og assimilation/tradition. Klassen har skrevet et analytical essay om Ella Paradis' essay "Africa is not a Country"

Forløb med fokus på det multikulturelle Storbritiannien. Vi har gennemgået Storbritanniens historie med fokus på tiden efter 2. verdenskrig og den migration der opstår i forbindelse med afviklingen af det britiske imperium. Vi har kigget på spørgsmålet om immigration og mulitkulturalisme fra den første Windrush generation og frem til Brexit og nyeste tid. Vi har dykket ned i de tre faser af britisk migrantlitteratur, "arrival phase", "settler phase" og "indigene phase" og har læst udvalgte tekster fra alle faser.
