Værklæsningsforløb af The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time.

Fast fashion
Prostitution
Plastic surgery
Assisted suicide
Controversial laws in the US
Legalisation of cannabis

US election 2024
When we are done with this topic, we will:
- know more about the US electoral system and political parties
- have analyzed and compared the two candidates for the 2024 presidential election.
- be aware of some of the current issues discussed in the US.

India - Then and Now.
This theme explores India both historically and today. Through “Delhi on Chai”, we are first introduced to urban life in India today. We work on India’s history both before and after independence and partition and develop an understanding of the way the British see themselves in relation to the colonies through George Orwell: “Burmese Days” and Rudyard Kipling: “The White Man’s Burden”.
Turning to India today, we are introduced to 3 postcolonial discourses, gender issues and the caste system, and we focus on young Indians' struggle for love and/or wealth.

Klassen har skrevet et analytical essay om Ella Paradis' essay "Africa is not a Country"

What we Talk about when we Talk about Love (EXAM)
Vi har læst Raymond Carvers novellesamling "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love" som værk.

Background texts:
From "UK Now": History of British migration 1-3,
From Everyone is Here: Phases of immigrant literature
Core texts:
Enoch Powell: Rivers of Blood,
Sam Selvon :The Lonely Londoners,
Hanif Kureishi: My son the fanatic,
Bernardine Evaristo: Yazz (excerpt from Girl, Woman, Other)
David Cameron: Multiculturalism has Failed
