Titel 1 (Why) is that frightening?!

At the end of the unit, you should be able to:
-explain what characterized the Romantic age in Britain
-explain how both nature poetry and the Gothic relate to changes in British society
-explain what characterizes romantic nature poetry
-explain what characterizes the Gothic
-explain how Gothic relates to horror fiction
-explain how horror may be blended into a comedy theater play
- preparing and presenting a fiction analysis of Frankenstein.

A teaching unit that revolves around the autobiographical comedy book ”Born a Crime”by Trevor Noah (2017).

At the end of the unit you will be able to analyse and discuss:
- the basics of apartheid in South Africa
- the consequences of British colonialism in South Africa
- cultural identity, when cultures clash and/or intermingle
- the strenghts and drawbacks of using different genres to thematize the complex issue of apartheid and its aftermath

Titel 7 WW1 - The Great War (ORAL EXAM)

The unit focuses on analysing campaigns and poetry from World War One. The aim is to trace the development of the attitude towards the war. At the end of the unit you will be able to:

- analyse the development of the attitude to The First World War
- analyse the most known poems from WW1 with special focus on figurative language
- discuss the individual soldier's experience in the trenches
- rephrase the background and political implications of WW1

Titel 8 Discovering India (ORAL EXAM)

The unit is an introduction to the diversity of India. It gives an introduction to the Indian school system, politics and the varity of languages and religions. It especially focuses on the clash between traditional Indian lifestyle and Western culture as depicted especially in the film, the short story and in Bollywood.

At the end of the unit you will have basic knowledge of:
