Football Culture in Britain and the US
Football Culture in Britain and the US
As a sport, football has the ability to both unite and divide people. There are those who love to watch or play football and couldn’t live without it, and there are those who couldn’t care less.
We will start off by looking at the origin of the word soccer, and at the difference between British football (soccer) and American football (gridiron)
In this unit, we will look at the relationship between football and culture, and explore whether football can tell us something about cultural traits in Britain and the US.
