SUSA (Some of the United States of America)
I dette forløb arbejder eleverne med 12 forskellige amerikanske stater. Hovedvægten er lagt på stater, som få danskere har kendskab til.
I små grupper udarbejder eleverne en præsentation af den enkelte stat. Fokus er statens historie, geografi og særlige kendetegn.
Eleverne arbejder med følgende 12 stater:
Mississippi, Louisiana, Minnesota, Texas, Illinois, California, Washington, New Mexico, Alaska, Massachusetts, Washington D.C, Florida.
Efter gruppernes præsentation læses en tekst, der relaterer til den enkelte stat. Eleverne præsenteres her for forskellige tekstgenrer.
I forbindelse med staten Californien arbejder eleverne parvis med en selvvalgt RAP-tekst, der kan forbindes til Los Angeles.
Som afslutning på forløbet ser klassen filmen Into the Wild.
