EKSAMEN: American History - American Values

Mål
Med udgangspunkt i tekster af forskellige genre vil eleverne blive præsenteret for USAs historie i korte træk. Fokus vil være på at forstå og videreformidle de amerikanske værdier, samt forstå hvorfor den amerikanske kultur er anderledes end den danske. Ligeledes skal eleverne være i stand til at forstå og forklare konceptet ”The American Dream”, og gennem elevpræsentationer, opnår eleverne viden omkring forskellige aspekter ved den amerikanske drøm, amerikanske værdier samt historiske begivenheder. Yderlige fokus vil være på forståelse af den afro-amerikanske befolkning og deres kamp for at opnå lige rettigheder; BLM vil være en del af denne afstikker.

Dette forløb tager et etisk udgangspunkt i undersøgelsen af hvad det vil sige at leve online fra forskellige vinkler. Materialet spænder fra klassisk fiktion i form af Asimovs novelle fra 1951 til nonfiktionsanalyse af artiklen fra New Scientist Tech.com samt spillefilm og serie, og sikrer dermed berøring med flere genrers analyse.

Fokus er på at lade elever tage stilling til egen færden og formulere holdninger og argumentere derfor.

Friendship - Victoria og Liv, Charlis friendship whit Sam and Patrick

Growing up /Coming of age - Jacob, William, Frederik V - He starts highschool and gets a lot of new friends and tries many new things.

Drugs - Lasse, Axel, Charlie starts using drugs a way to escape reality. He does this as he feels the need after all the traumatising events that has shaped him to constantly think & observe.

Loneliness- Ryan, Jonas. The consequence of his friend committing suicide led to him experiencing loneliness due to the fact that he didn’t have any other friends han him. He also experienced loneliness when he broke up with Mary Elisabeth.

Mental health - it's important to speak to someone about your feelings so you don't bottle it up and end up like Charlie.

Trauma - Victoria og Liv, The trauma of losing his Aunt Helen and his best friend at an early age.

Consequences Magnus, bertram og mauer dreng: when the sister gets pregnant she has to live with the consequences of going to the abortion center and talking to Charlie about it.

Hovedfokus:
Ved brug af retoriske redskaber, herunder de tre appelformer (logos, etos og patos), pentagon-modellen samt kernebegreber indenfor retorik (primær og sekundær publikum og bl.a. anafor, alliteration, assonans, antitese og polyptoton, retoriske spørgsmål), har eleverne arbejdet selvstændigt i grupper med egne udvalgte politiske taler holdt af forhenværende og nuværende amerikanske præsidenter samt andre verdensledere. Slutproduktet har været en præsentation af gruppernes analyse af disse taler med dertilhørende Google Slides og opponentgrupper.

Andet fokus:
At bevidstgøre eleverne omkring deres egne mundtlige præsentationer og ordforråd.

EKSAMEN: Crime in Fiction

The course explores crime fiction by looking at literature, TV and film. Students will acquire knowledge about crime fiction as a genre, the three periods, focusing in particular on characters and stereotypes, setting and narrative technique.

By the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Account for the typical genre characteristics of crime fiction and comment on the narrative technique using academic terms such as whodunit, howcatchem, narrator and point of view, suspense, surprise, reveal, red herring.
- Account for which elements within a crime fiction story belongs to either the Early Crime Fiction, The Golden Age or the Modern Crime Fiction period.
- Identify and characterise different stereotypes within the genre such as the classic detective who solves murder mysteries based on logic and deduction, the hardboiled American loner fighting injustice and corruption, and the psychologically complex – and often deranged – killer.
- Describe the typical settings of crime fiction and draw parallels between these and the real world

Igennem teksterne har vores fokus været på forskellene og herigennem også konflikterne mellem de to kulturer, samt hvorledes de to kulturer har betragtet landet Indien. Sonnets and Love Poetry

Med udgangspunkt i det omfavnende begreb ”Love” har elever beskæftiget med forskellige typer af kærlighed udtrykt i digte. Derudover er eleverne blevet præsenteret for og arbejdet med rim, rytme og oprindelse af to klassiske sonetter: den engelske og italienske sonnet.
Diskussioner omkring hvordan individet betragter kærlighed er også kommet i spil, og elever har selv skrevet kærlighedsdigte.

Yderligere fokus på stilistik i tekster såvel som afleveringer.
