The Move to Global War
1. AIMS/OBJECTICES
We study three countries in the interwar period, Germany, Italy and Japan. The objective is for the students to become aware of the dilemmas facing great powers like USA, Britain and France in meeting the challenges posed by the first three mentioned countries.
2. ACADEMICS
The students will learn how to work in an academically sound way by adopting well tested methods of achieving the neccessayry vocabulary etc.
3. SKILLS
The student's communication skills will be at the center of the learning environment, as will thinking and research skills and also self-management and social skills.
4. SOCIAL
A good social environment in class i a necessary condition for good learning. Students and teacher will behave respectfully towards each other. The teacher decides what to study, but in other matters, the students will have a clear say in the matter.
5. STUDY
It is expected of the students that they study hard and thereby gain the maximum of their ability to learn the subject.
6. ASSESSMENT/EVALUATION
The students will be regularly assessed, either through home assignments or by tests in class.
We will read pages 14-81 in "The Move to Global War" by Keely Rogers and Jo Thomas

Causes, Practices and Effects of Wars
1. AIMS/OBJECTICES
We study study the First World War. Why did the war start in the first place? What happened during the war? What were the consequences of the war?
2. ACADEMICS
The students will learn the proper way of addressing historical topics. A precise and large vocabulary is needed and will be focused on.
3. SKILLS
The student's communication skills will be at the center of the learning environment, as will thinking and research skills and also self-management and social skills.
4. SOCIAL
The students will engage with each other in a respectful manner. A good sense of humour is encouraged. The shortest distance between two humans is often a good laugh.
5. STUDY
It is expected of the students that work consistently with the subject and get used to reading a relatively high number of pages.
6. ASSESSMENT/EVALUATION
The students will be regularly assessed, either through home assignments or by tests in class.
