The US - A Polarised Nation (EXAM)
Formål:
- At studere amerikanske kulturelle, politiske og samfundsmæssige forhold, herunder ’American National Symbols’ og ’The Pledge of Allegiance’.
- Analyseværktøjer til fiktionstekster men også fokus på appelformer (logos, ethos, pathos) i campaigner imod skydevåben.
- At træne skriftlig fremstilling (summary, analytical essay, discussion).
- At træne mundtlig fremstilling (oplæg om henholdsvis mass shootings i USA og 'national symbols')
- Forløbet har desuden introduceret diverse 'linguistic and poetic devices' (metaphor, personification, simile, alliteration, assonance, oxymoron, onomatopeia, hyperbole, litotes).
