Titel 2 1 Grundforløb: Climate Change and Sustainability

Climate Change and Sustainability er et forløb, der - ud over emnet - introducerer til engelskfaget i gymnasiet, herunder fiction, non-fiction, poetry og documentary analyse og -modeller.
Derudover har eleverne arbejdet med deres første five paragraph analytical essay.

Grammatik: kongruens, verbernes fem hovedtider.

Titel 3 2 The British Empire EXAM

(15%)
The British Empire giver en god baggrund for at forstå UK's internationale situation i dag, herunder forholdet til USA og til lande, der tidligere var en del af det britiske imperium. I The British Empire ser vi på Britisk selvforståelse som den kommer frem i nationale sange og traditioner som Last Night at the Proms, og i BBC dokumentaren "Making Ourselves at Home" om livet i kolonierne, men imperiet bliver også set fra de kolonialiseredes vinkel som i fablen "Gentlemen of the Jungle".
Til sidst perspektiveres til engelsk som lingua franca.

Temaet  indeholder et projektarbejde, hvor eleverne hver især præsenterer et land, der har været en del af det britiske imperium.

Titel 4 3 The USA, Land of Hope

The USA, Land of Hope

Dette er første del af et forløb om USA. Anden del "Do Black Lives Matter?", som ligger i 2.g,  bygger oven på dette forløb:

Formål:
- Opnå viden om væsentlige idealer og værdier, som det amerikanske samfund bygger på, både generelt og for den afro-amerikanske befolkning, samt sidstnævntes frustration og utilfredshed med deres stilling i USA. Hovedvægten ligger på nutiden, men med historiske nedslag.  Hermed opfylder forløbet læreplanens krav om at analysere og perspektivere aktuelle forhold i USA med anvendelse af grundlæggende engelskfaglig viden om historiske, kulturelle og samfundsmæssige forhold.

- Analysere og fortolke forskellige tekstgenrer, både sagprosa (herunder tale, artikel og dokumentarfilm) og prosa (herunder novelle, filmtrailer, film, digt, sangtekst).

- Arbejde med forskelle mellem amerikansk og britisk engelsk.

- Opnå et relevant ordforråd for emnet.

Temaet inkluderer værklæsning og har fokus på kærlighed i dens mange aspekter. Der er fokus på fiktionsanalyse, både roman, novelle, digt, film og kortfilm. Der er ældre tekster og nutidige, hvorfor vi har sammenlignet kærlighed og kønsroller i det 19. århundrede med i dag.

Australia - Convict Nation and the Stolen Generation

Formål:
- Studere et område af den engelsktalende verden, som IKKE drejer sig om Storbritannien eller USA. Fokus ligger på "the Convict Nation", dvs. på "The First Fleet" og dermed de første britiske kolonister. Desuden ligger fokus på "The Stolen Generations" og dermed på behandlingen af den indfødte australske befolkning.

Titel 7 6 Do Black Lives Matter? EXAM

Formål:

Dette er 2. del af et tema om USA, hvor 1.del lå i 1.g og havde fokus på idealer og værdier, som det amerikanske samfund generelt bygger på: amerikansk exceptionalisme, "Manifest Destiny", demokrati, lighed, individuel frihed, hårdt arbejde og succes, forandring og fremskridt, immigration og multikulturalisme.  Her så vi bl.a. på de amerikanske symboler, helte og ritualer, som bygger på disse værdier.

I denne 2.del er der fokus på den afro-amerikanske befolkning og deres frustration og utilfredshed med deres stilling i USA. Man kan også spørge: Er den amerikanske drøm også for afro-amerikanere?
Hovedvægten ligger på nutiden, men med historiske nedslag. Hermed opfylder forløbet læreplanens krav om at analysere og perspektivere aktuelle forhold i USA med anvendelse af grundlæggende engelskfaglig viden om historiske, kulturelle og samfundsmæssige forhold.

Andre formål:
- Analysere og fortolke forskellige tekstgenrer med fokus på non-fiction, især tale, men også artikel og dokumentarfilm. Desuden lidt prosa ( film, novelle).

- Opnå et relevant ordforråd for emnet.

- Træne mundtlig færdighed via mundtlige oplæg om bl.a. en selvvalgt case om politivold mod afro-amerikanere.

Titel 9 7 Class and inequality in Britain

(ca 10%)
Forløbet bygger delvist videre på 1.g-forløbet ”The British Empire”, især mht. briternes selvforståelse. Forløbet lægger vægt på hvordan synet på klasse og ulighed udtrykkes i sange, fx John Lennons ”Working Class Hero” og film, fx ”I, Daniel Blake” samt i interview-klip og i humoristiske sketches som fx “Vicky Pollard in a counselling session”. Perspektivet er både historisk som i ”Downton Abbey” og nutidigt som i artiklen ”A Tale of Two Cities”. Af samme grund opereres der både med den traditionelle tre-deling i overklasse/elite – middelklasse – arbejderklasse/underklasse samt i den seneste syv-deling af klasserne.
