Titel 1 The Cult of Celebrity

Through this topic, the students will explore the different roles of celebrities. Sometimes  we see them as role models, sometimes we find them ridiculous and weird, but either way celebrities are of interest and affect the lives of many people in multiple ways.

Australia - Convict Nation and the Stolen Generation

Formål:
- Studere et område af den engelsktalende verden, som IKKE drejer sig om Storbritannien eller USA. Fokus ligger på "the Convict Nation", dvs. på "The First Fleet" og dermed de første britiske kolonister. Desuden ligger fokus på "The Stolen Generations" og dermed på behandlingen af den indfødte australske befolkning.
- Analysere og fortolke forskellige tekstgenrer: breve, artikler, film, tale, novelle.
- Formulere egne synspunkter på engelsk.
- Oparbejde et ordforråd, som er relevant for emnet.

Titel 7 Ireland and Lingua Franca (Exam topic)

The topic “Ireland and Lingua Franca” allows the students to work with another English-speaking country than Great Britain and the US. The students will learn about some of the main historical events in Ireland from the 1800s until Brexit.
Through fiction and non-fiction, the students will learn about parts of the Irish history, the culture.
Furthermore, the students will study English as a lingua franca.
