Titel 1 Digital identities

Purpose:
As social networking sites and other social media platforms become increasingly widespread, people tend to communicate their identities more and more online. Do our personalities form our online identities or is it the other way round?
This course focuses on some of the consequences of today’s pervasive digitalization of society.
You are going to analyse a number of texts, Instagram profiles, film dealing with the relationship between our online identities and our personalities and purpose with using online media.
As a theoretical framework the theories of sociologists Erving Goffman and Anthony Giddens will be discussed and applied.

Titel 3 Entrepreneurship

This theme investigates what it takes to set up your own business, investigating aspects such as entrepreneur mindset, pros/cons of going it alone and the importance of entrepreneurs in business and economy. You will be introduced to the pros and cons of starting your own business from scratch and will also be introduced to the concept of crowdfunding, which is a new way of funding new start-ups, often via social media.
