Forløb#1Identity in change
In this course, we have worked with basic sociological concepts such as identity formation, socialization, including primary, secondary and double socialization as well as various socialization arenas, including family forms and social groups.
We have worked with both qualitative and quantitative sources and made comparative studies.
Core concepts:

- societal changes and the relationship between actor and structure.
Academic goals:
- Apply and combine knowledge and skills from the subject's disciplines to explain current issues
societal problems and discuss solutions to them.

Forløb#1Politics
In this process, we have worked with political theory with a special focus on political ideologies and Danish politics.
We have worked case-based with current political issues and worked theory-based with a focus on understanding, the underlying theoretical explanations we can use to understand concrete political mechanisms.
Specific topics we have touched on in the course are:
- Understandings of democracy
- Perceptions of power
Participatory and competitive democracy
- The political system in Denmark, including the legislative process
- political ideologies
- ideological ramifications
Academic goals:
̶ examine concrete ideological and political issues and views of society
̶ formulate social science questions and collect, critically evaluate and use different types of material to document professional contexts
̶ convey the content in simple models, tables and diagrams using digital aids
̶̶ argue for own views on a professional basis and enter into a professional dialogue.
̶ apply and combine knowledge and skills from the disciplines of the subject to investigate current societal issues
issues in Denmark and other countries and discuss existing and own solutions to this
̶ examine and document a policy area, including the importance of the EU and global conditions
̶ examine concrete economic prioritization problems nationally, regionally and globally and discuss solutions to them

Forløb#3 Economies
We have worked with micro- and macroeconomic conditions in society.
We have particularly worked with the topics in a light of inequality, including discussed shortages and growth needs, the welfare triangle's various arenas for meeting needs and various economic systems, including market, planning, and mixed economy.
We have worked with the economic goals for good economics, including the students have become acquainted with the concepts of GDP, inflation, balance of payments, sustainable economy and government finances.
In practical exercises, we have examined the circulation of money. We have worked with various fiscal and monetary policy measures to prevent violent economic fluctuations.
We have worked with the historical development of the Danish welfare state. We have compared Gösta Esping Andersen's three welfare models: the universal, selective and residual model, and their different ideological relationships to the division of responsibilities in society. In conclusion, we have discussed the future prospects for the Danish welfare model, including in particular threats to the Danish welfare state and solutions to them.

In this course, we have worked with the European Union.
We have worked with the historical background for the establishment of the EU, the EU's institutions, including the Council of Ministers, the European Parliament, the Commission and the European Council.
We have worked thoroughly with the legislative process in the EU and dealt with a number of EU related dilemmas.
Academic goals:
̶ examine how the EU functions as an actor on the international stage and how the EU functions internally
̶ formulate social science questions and collect, critically evaluate and use different types of material to document professional contexts
̶ convey the content in simple models, tables and diagrams using digital aids

Forløb#5 Equality
In this course, we have worked with equality and inequality in different forms.
We have worked with the concepts of
social stratification, including life modes, lifestyles and living conditions.
We have worked with sociologist Pierre Bourdieu's theory of habitus and different kinds of capital as an explanaition of inequality and lack of social mobility in western countries.
In the process, we have worked gender equality
1. from a sociological perspective with a focus on gender roles,
2. from an economic perspective with a focus on the gender pay gap and glass ceiling, and
3. finally we have worked with gender equality from a political point of view with a focus on legislation, including the EU's directive on distribution of parental leave.
Academic goals:
- Apply and combine knowledge and skills from the subject's disciplines to explain current issues
societal problems and discuss solutions to them.
- Use knowledge, concepts and academic contexts from the core subject to explain and discuss
