In Pre-IB we will focus on getting a basic understanding of the Spanish language and cultural insight. We will use the course book and activity book “Pasos 1”.
In Pre-Ib we will learn

Basic grammar in Spanish
- Articles
- Nouns
- Genitive
- Adjectives
- Verbs and conjugation
- Tenses (present + present perfect + near future)
- Ser/estar/haber
- Personal pronouns (subject)
- Verbs with indirect object (gustar etc)
Vocabulary
- Pronunciation, alphabet, intonation
- How to introduce ourselves  
- Most important verbs (etc ser/estar/haber/querer/gustar)
- Basic vocabulary (numbers, colors, family, country, hobbies/likes, foods and drinks)

Cultural insight
- Where is Spanish spoken
- Why is Spanish an important and interesting language to learn
- Spanish and Latin American music
- Holiday destinations
- Cultural topic decided by class
There will be in-class-tests where students are assessed on their reading skills and productive skills.
