Dette forløb tager udgangspunkt i den britiske kolonisering af Australian.
Indledningsvist kigger vi kort på den historiske udvikling med straffefanger, som blev sendt til Australien og her etablerede et nyt samfund.
Fokus i forløbet ligger på de udfordringer, som den indfødte befolkning oplevede og stadig mærker konsekvenserne af i nutidens Australien.
Vi læser tekster, som handler om "The Stolen Generation" med filmen "Rabbit Proof Fence" som omdrejningspunkt og centralt i forløbet står Aboriginal identitet og det at være minoritet og undertrykt i samfundet. Afslutningsvist arbejder vi med begrebet om "reconciliation" og hvordan man i Australian forsøger at gøre op med fortidens overgreb, men også at det kan være svært at udfordre det nationale narrativ om en homogen hvid nation.

I dette forløb arbejder vi sammen med samfundsfag som optakt til at skrive "Studieretningsopgaven".
Forløbet fokuserer på stormagterne USA, UK, Indien og Sydafrika. I samfundsfag introduceres teorier om den internationale magtbalance, mens vi i engelsk fokuserer på, hvordan disse nationer og deres magthavere fremstiller deres rolle i verden.
I starten af forløb introduceres kort til de enkelte magters position, identitet og selvforståelse. Ligeledes introduceres til og arbejdes med retorik og sprogets magt.
I løbet af selve forløbet vælger hver enkelt elev et land de vil fokusere på i opgaven og arbejder med en selvvalgt tale, som engelsk primærmateriale i SRO'en.
