Beskrivelse af de enkelte undervisningsforløb (1 skema for hvert forløb)

Titel 1	Choices and Consequences Formål og indhold: Det første forløb i 1.hf engelsk introducerer til de metoder, genrer og teksttyper vi vil møde i undervisningen gennem de to år. I Choices and consequences-forløbet har vi undersøgt forskellige dilemmaer/problematikker om små og store livsvalg, og hvordan de udtrykkes forskellige materialetyper; noveller, film, artikler, mv. Vi arbejder med ordforråd og analyseudtryk indenfor de forskellige genrer og samt de særlige træk, som hver teksttype har. Vi har kørt en række mundtlighedsøvelser, som fokuserer på det spontane ordforråd, udtale, variationer i sproget samt skaber tryghed i overgangen fra grundskole til hf. Herudover arbejder vi med grammatik-øvelser fra bogen "Fejlstøvsugeren" samt integreret grammatik i de læste tekster. Fra læreplanen, vil forløbet i særlig grad arbejde med at eleverne kan: • læse og forstå skrevne engelske tekster i forskellige genrer • lave en kort mundtlig og skriftlig redegørelse for indhold i engelske tekster • anvende opslagsværker og øvrige hjælpemidler • arbejde fokuseret med udtale- og grammatikøvelser Materialer: Williams, Olly og Philip Sansom: "The Black Hole"(2008) short film Mansell, Jojoba: "Hard Choices"(2012), poem Matheson, Richard: Button, Button (1970) short story Pike, Kelly: "Owen", (2016), short film Supplerende øvelser fra grundbogen Choices, Systime, 2023 Metoder: Mange mundtlighedsøvelser samt kreative tegneopgaver, individuel - og pararbejde med analysespørgsmål. Titel 2	American Values and the 2024 Election Formål og indhold: I relation til det aktuelle præsidentvalg i USA har vi indledningsvist undersøgt hvordan systemet med valgmænd, svingstater og checks and balances fungerer. Hernæst et fokus på retoriske analyser af taler fra begge kandidater (primært fokus på appelformer og rhetorical tools.) Vi fokuserede på økonomi som tema, herunder inequality, minimum wage og working poor. Hernæst et bredere fokus på USAs tilblivelse, værdier og kulturforståelse via fiktion, som tematiserer værdierne og den amerikanske drøm. Titel 3	Humans and Technology Formål og indhold: I "Humans and Technology" har vi undersøgt hvordan forholdet mellem menneske og nyere teknologier, som AI, tematiseres i fiktion og non-fiktion over tid. I fiktionen, som primært er sci-fi, har vi kredset omkring menneskets reaktioner på AI, mens vi i non-fiction har set på holdninger og argumenter om emnet.
