Reading the novel The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas and examining the background of the novel, as well as the real-life issues it addresses.
The Hate U Give is a work of contemporary American literature within the wave of social justice and activism, and we have focused on these themes while reading the novel.

- To explore the historical context of the relationship between African Americans and police officers.
-To explore Starr´s identities and how she switches between them based on her situation.
- To examine media representations of White and African American suspects and victims. To analyse the language choices used by the media and the implicit biases.

Titel 2 Dystopia (Eksamen)

Special focus: The dystopian hero, the defining features of dystopian societies, and the popularity of dystopia as a genre, as well as the analysis of fiction and non-fiction work.
This is combined with a study of modernism, postmodernism, and contemporary literature, raising questions about the society we live in.

Titel 3 Gender Roles in Shakespeare (Eksamen)

We have read extracts from Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth by William Shakespeare. The main focus has been on  Shakespeare’s portrayal of the two genders and their interaction. We have also looked at the renaissance period and gender roles of that period compared to our four protagonists and today´s society.

A look at postmodern literature and the postmodern character traits from a selection of short stories, Fight club and an episode of Sex and the city with urban life as one of their central topics.
We have discussed the similarities and differences between the postmodern periods in Britain and the USA and how they are reflected in the texts and films studied

Titel 5 Football Culture in the UK

Special focus on the social divide between different social classes, how football can bring a nation together, and fan culture in the UK.
Women’s football has become increasingly popular in the UK, and we have therefore also  looked at and discussed gender equality in football, as well as the challenges that the England women's national football team and women’s football in general have faced and still face in the UK.

Vi har valgt at opgive dette forløb til eksamen, selvom det er læst i 2.g, da alle på holdet har haft forløbet, og vi samtidig dækker faglige mål inden for lingua franca.
