Titel 1 Growing up


During your introduction class to English B, you will be working on a variety of texts.

We will begin with something that you have all experienced (and are indeed experiencing): growing up. Various aspects will be dealt with, such as the parent-child relationship, finding one's identities, transitions to adulthood and lost innocense. We will look at how several writers of fiction have dealt with these issues.

- to know how to write an essay (introduction to the structure of the essay as a genre, 5 point model, and linkers)
-  to be able to analyse using elements from a new criticism approach: setting, narrator, characters and theme

- to be able to use the PEE model (Point, evidence, explanation)
