Global English in a Post-colonial World
Building on courses on empire, the Anglosphere, and multiculturalism from 2g, we expand our focus to Africa, particularly Nigeria, as we explore the evolution of English into a global lingua franca, including aspects of language, power, and shared and fragmented identities. In addition to vocabulary and knowledge about empire, colonies past and present, and the effect on UK today, we also focus on writing skills, such as structure in essays, quotations, abstract themes.
