Crime & Punishment
During this course, we take a look at society's obsession with crime and crime storytelling. Historically, this obsession has produced genres such as murder ballads and crime broadsides, and in our modern age many podcasts center around telling true crime stories. We also explore the creative non-fiction genre of New Journalism by reading an excerpt of Truman Capote's classic "In Cold Blood" and analyzing Capote's world-building in the story.
