Multicultural Britain - EKSAMEN
I dette forløb arbejder vi med med det multiculturelle England, og hvad betydningen af ordet multikulturalitet dækker over. Vi læser om hvordan immigranter har det i England, hvordan de ser på dem selv, hvordan det etnisk britiske samfund ser på dem, og hvordan immigranterne ser på det etnisk britiske folk. Temaer og begreber som integration, assimilation, segregation, identity, arranged marriage og love/hate/racism er gennemgående for de kilder elevernerne er blivet præsenteret for.

Dystopia - EKSAMEN
I dette forløb skal eleverne have et indblik i genren "Dystopian fiction" og samtidig få en viden om hvilke genretræk og karakteristika man kan finde på tværs af de forskellige tekster og film, vi gennemgår. Vi starter forløbet med noget teori omkring genren og forsøger at definere 'dystopia' og 'utopia' bl.a. gennem Moores "Utopia" fra 1516. Herefter laver vi en værklæsning af "Animal Farm" og kommer efterfølgende forbi flere af de kendte fiktionstekster. Vi bringer emnet helt frem til nutiden ved at se dystopiagenren gennem filmen 'Hunger Games' samt episode 1 af serien 'The Handmaid's Tale'.

South Africa - EKSAMEN
Vi kommer i forløbet igennem tiden før, under og efter apartheid.
Der læses tekster - både short stories og artikler, som omhandler livet som sort (og hvid) i sydafrika. Hvordan har apartheid indvirket på samfundet og hvilke konsekvenser har det haft for folket. Der er desuden læst om Mandela og hans arbejde for at afskaffe apartheid, men samtidig også tiden efter - altså om livet er blevet bedre for sydafrikanerne, med fokus på både sorte og hvide sydafrikanere.

From Slavery to Black Lives Matter - EKSAMEN
I dette forløb kigger vi på afro-amerikanernes forhold i USA. Forløbet skal give eleverne en forståelse for den historiske, kulturelle og sociale udvikling der er sket mellem de hvide og sorte amerikanere fra tiden som slaver og the civil rights movement samt Jim Crow laws til nutidens indsættelsen af Obama som præsident og Black Lives Matter-bevægelsen som et modsvar til politibrutalitet og den generelle racisme, der stadig findes i USA.

American Minimalist Fiction - EKSAMEN
Formålet med forløbet er at introducere eleverne til strømningen 'Minimalism in American literature' med fokus på de to store forfattere Ernest Hemingway og Raymond Carver. Minimalisme er i høj grad en stilistisk strømning og lægger op til et grundigt fokus på de sproglige træk ved stilen, men vi vil også beskæftige os med motiver og temaer i teksterne og se på, om vi kan finde fællestræk. I forløbet er eleverne blevet præsenteret for "The Iceberg Principle" ligesom de også har lært om diverse genretræk ved minimalisme.

Troubled Love
I dette korte forløb koncentrerer vi os om emnet 'Troubled Love'.
Hvordan kommer den svære kærlighed til udtryk igennem diverse tekster, sonnetter og film?
Hvilke former for kærlighed findes der? Vi ser på og diskuterer diverse former for kærlighed som: carnal love, obsessive love, parental love, platonic love, romantic love eternal love og spiritual love.
Der vil være et særligt fokus på Shakespeare og hans sonnetter samt tiden hvori disse blev skrevet (The Elizbethan Era), men der bliver samtidig trukket strenge til mere moderne tekster og forløbet ønsker gennem disse forskellige kilder at vise hvordan historiske, politiske og sociale kontekster kan influere kærlighed og relationen mellem mennesker.
