Introduction to the Spanish world.
Course Description:
The Pre-IB Spanish ab initio course is a language acquisition course for beginners, that is, students who have little or no previous experience of learning Spanish.
Main course objectives:
* demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the intercultural elements related to the prescribed topics.
* communicate clearly and effectively in a range of situations.
* understand and use accurately the basic structures of the language.
Skills Acquired:
Throughout the ab initio course, students will develop receptive, productive and interactive skills in the Spanish language. These skills are defined as follows:
• Receptive: the ability to comprehend written and spoken language
• Productive: the ability to write and speak the target language effectively
• Interactive: the ability to understand and respond effectively to written and spoken language
The main aims of the Spanish ab initio course is to develop students’ intercultural understanding, and their ability to respond and interact appropriately in a defined range of everyday situations. Furthermore, the course also aims to provide students with a basis for further study, work and leisure through the use of an additional language.
