Titel 1 Engelsk grundforløb: Education

The course focuses on the theme 'Education' in the English subject context. As our students start an education, the course seeks to introduce the students to what is meant by education in different cultural contexts, and how we can understand education and its purpose - as well as what it means to be a student who gets the most out of education. In the course, we read a number of different texts, each of which in their own way introduces the students to the ideas behind education, its purpose and its goals. In addition, the course introduces the central text types, which are often treated in English with corresponding introductory concepts. The course can also be used as an exam course for English B.

Fokus: faglig læsning, PDF-brug, bekendtskab med fagets analytiske begreber.

Faglige mål, analyse:  
- Faglige om fiktion: characterization, theme, setting, conflict, point of view, structure/composition
- Viden om kulturelle forhold ift. Uddannelse (= uddannelsessystemerne) i UK og USA.

Mål, arbejdsmetoder: ordbogsopslag; brug af Adobe Reader, så eleverne vænner sig til at notere i pdf-dokumenter.
