The subject will focus on how to analyze short stories, poems, pictures, and a movie. All material somehow deal with the aspects of growing up. The focus will be on both oral work and written work.

The class will read Edgar Allen Poe's "The Murders in the Rue Morgue", and discuss what makes this story a crime story.

A subject with a focus upon Nelson Mandela, the apartheid system, Tell Freedom by Peter Abrahams, Steve Biko and the black consciousness movement, and short stories by Nadine Gordimer. To introduce this subject about another English speaking country than the US and Britain, we will read two poems by John Agard and talk about English as lingua franca.

NEW YORK CITY (eksamensemne)
In this subject the students will work with the history of New York and important literature: mainly poems and short stories, and music about or from New York. The subject prepares the students for a student trip to N.Y.
In New York the students will meet with Danish journalist Isak Hüllert and discuss how to get a career in NY. The discussion will focus on the possibilites and problems with starting a career in a big city like New York.
The Students will also visit the UN Headquarters in NY and learn about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of UN.

Animal Farm + TF7
The students will both do class work, group work and work on their own reading the novel/novella and working with different aspects of the story. They will watch a short video about the Russian Revolution & Animal Farm, and pair the characters from "Animal Farm" with the real persons of The Russian Revolution.
The novella will also be used in TF7, a collaboration with History about The Russian Revolution where the students will create a thesis statement and make an innovative product in order to learn how to work project orientated preparing them for SRP.
