I dette højaktuelle forløb vil I lære mere om det spørgsmål, som alle med interesse i USA og udenrigspolitik stiller sig selv: Hvorfor blev det lige det parti og den kandidat, der vandt præsidentvalget i 2024?
For at kunne besvare dette spørgsmål skal vi lære mere om det amerikanske lov- og stemmesystem, demokratiets status og vilkår i USA og vigtige emner for amerikanerne i denne valgkamp. Forløbet er derfor inddelt efter emner som Black History, Immigration, Abortion, Poverty/Inequality og AI/Media.

I dette forløb har eleverne arbejdet med første kapitler og begyndelser på autentiske engelsksprogede romaner. Forløbet har været centreret omkring et kompendium med teori til første kapitler. Her var, blandt andet, et fokus på de første par sætninger (opening line) i roman. Efter læsning og analyse af nogle anerkendte første kapitler, har eleverne selv udvalgt en roman som de læste til ende. Denne værkslæsning udmøntede sig i en mundtlig præsentation i form af en podcast. Eleverne har desuden skrevet deres eget første kapitel samt analyseret andre elevers første kapitler. Forløbet har stillet store krav til selvstændighed hos eleverne ifm. at få læst romanen og få planlagt den individuelle podcast.
