Spanish for beginners
Purpose:
Based on the beginner's course and activity book Pasos 1 Spanish, the students have gradually been introduced to the Spanish language and Spanish-speaking world and culture. The students have acquired knowledge and training in basic language, which largely concerns subjects around the students themselves.
Topic areas:
Meeting and greeting people, jobs and professions, countries and nationalities, family, the alphabet, spelling, numbers, food and drink, asking and saying what you want and what there is, ordering in a restaurant, making friends, saying where you live and where you are from, asking and saying where places are, talking about distances, asking and saying what a place is like and where someone is, asking for and giving directions, talking about where places are in relation to each other, booking into a hotel, saying days, dates and months, describing places and houses (rooms and furniture), ordinal numbers, talking about what you do and the working day, asking and saying the time, talking about what you do every day and in your spare time, describing a person's character, shopping, types of shops, what you can buy, weights and measures, asking and saying how much something is, describing and buying clothes, describing people, asking and saying what time things open/close/begin/end, likes and dislikes, pastimes, activities, food, personal details, opinions (what you think of your town), describing what you do in your free time, inviting people, accepting and refusing invitations (giving reasons, saying how you feel), explaining problems and giving advice, future plans (explaining what you are going to do), arranging to go to the cinema, asking about times, buying tickets, describing different types of film.
