Foløb 4: Class in the UK
This theme will have its focus on Britain as a class society. We will especially look at the differences between the upper class and the working class in British society. We will read an article on how education at elite schools like Oxford and Cambridge is connected with privilege and access to power and politics. Students will analyse scenes from The Riot Club with a focus on its portrayal of the elite. As a contrast to upper-class society the students will look at texts that portray the working class and values that are connected to these. The pupils have also made group work where they have researched and made a presentation on one of the following three subjects: gang violence, childhood poverty or migrants in the U.K. Furthermore, pupils will listen to the different dialects in England, including the cockney accent as well as learning about received pronunciation which often signals an upper class background.

Forløb 7: Climate Change
This theme is a collaboration with Danish with the focus on climate change rhetoric in MAGA-republican voters. It is an innovative 'SRP-forløb' with a special focus on method in English. We will start by reading and seeing a documentary about MAGA and learning the values and beliefs these voters hold. After this, we will read a speech on the climate by Donald Trump as well as his texts on truth social to understand the argumentation that is behind the beliefs held towards climate change by MAGA -voters. We will also look at linguists who break down Trump's rhetoric. At the end of the theme pupils will work in pairs on a speech that is centered on the MAGA-base while arguing that climate change. They will do this by using some of Trump's techniques as well as using argumentation based on MAGA values and beliefs instead of the traditional scientific argumenation. In Danish they will focus on Tourmalin's rhetorical model.

Forløb 8 Gender
Pupils will look at how gender is represented in different texts, music and films. We will be working with semantic fields in the music lyrics and newspaper articles which are used to describe the two genders. They will learn to identify positive and negative connotations that are applied to describe gender as well as themes regarding gender. Pupils will learn about the term the male gaze and how this can be seen in music videoes as well as how to make a feminist analysis. New trends that signal more extreme gender roles like tradwives and looksmaxxing will also be explored.
