What does it feel like to live a life without a place you can call home? How does poverty affect the choices you make, the life you live and the dignity that helps you hold your head high? Titel 6

EKSAMEN: Canada 1: The Canadian Mosaic

Dette er et tværfagligt GCP-forløb i samfundsfag og engelsk, som er grundlaget for jeres SRO.

Vi arbejder med følgende problemstilling: I hvor høj grad er Canada lykkedes med at skabe et multikulturelt samfund?

Forløbet tager udgangspunkt i arbejdet med den globale problemstilling: immigration og integration. Dette gøres ved at samfundsfag og engelsk tilsammen belyser problemstillingen med særlig fokus på Canada. Det betyder, at I først skal arbejde med problemstillingen ud fra empiri og teori, som vi har valgt. Sidst i forløbet har I gruppevejledning, hvor I øver jer på at beskrive projektet med fagligt sprog og med inddragelse af basal videnskabsteori.

SRO
Efter dette indledende forløb går den individuelle SRO-proces i gang. Her får I alle udleveret den samme opgaveformulering, som bygger på det forudgående forløb, og som I besvarer individuelt. I har 3,5 skrivedage: 18-21. december. Opgaven skal afleveres kl 10 på Lectio.

Forløbet afsluttes med et individuelt mundtligt forsvar af SRO’en 10+11. januar. På baggrund af SRO og mundtlige forsvar gives en helhedsvurdering i form af en karakter og feedback rettet frem mod SRP.

EKSAMEN: Election time!

This study course has two parts:
PART 1: I this section of the study course, we look back at the British general election and we look forward to the American presidential election. We focus on how the political candidates present themselves: Their ethos virtues and what topoi they use to argue that they are a worthy candidate.

We read a few texts that the whole class reads; otherwise, the study course consists of a longer group work, where each group analyses the ethos of one political candidate based on one of their speeches.

EKSAMEN: GCP: Canada 2: Indigenous Peoples

This is the second part of our work with Canada. Part 1 was Globale Tendenser+SRO in 2g, when we worked with immigration and multiculturalism in Canada.

Last year you worked with immigration and immigrants, and as promised we are this time going to explore Indigenous peoples in Canada: the experience of First Nations, Inuit and Métis, and the course will be directly linked to our work at UTS in Toronto and to your GCP video productions.

Our focus this time will be:
How is the history of Canada’s Indigenous peoples told, represented, and processed in contemporary Canada?

•on The Day of Truth and Recociliation (Sept. 30)
•in the mind of the ‘ordinary Canadian’ (on the street/ in your host families ...)

Titel 12	GCp: Dystopian Fiction Forløbet fokuserer på Dystopian Fiction og dets genretræk. Gennem forløbet træner eleverne deres analytiske evner af skønlitterære tekster med fokus på fortolkning og perspektivering til samfundsforhold. Forløbet har en GCP-vinkling, i og med, at vi arbejder med forholdet mellem borger og stat og hele utopi/dystopi-tanken. Jeg har prioriteret de to dystopiske klassikere, der oftest bruges som referencer i nutidens politiske diskussioner om abort og AI. Titel 13

EKSAMEN: Nature writing

I forløbet analyserer vi britisk litteratur, der bidrager til en forståelse af relationen mellem menneske og natur i forskellige tidsperioder. Herigennem opnås en forståelse for, hvordan samfundsudviklingen påvirker denne relation. Vi starter med at se på videnskabelige undersøgelser af relationen mellem menneske og natur. I det litterære forløb tager vi udgangspunkt i romantikkens poesi og særligt Wordsworth's digt "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud", som vi relaterer de øvrige tekster til. Vi kommer kort ind på satire og ironi og ellers vil fokus være på senmoderne nature writing. GCP-perspektivet vil være på litteraturens rolle i klimakrisen. Eleverne arbejder via creative writing med deres egen relation til naturen og bevidsthed om egen skrivestil.
