The unit explores many different aspects of what it means to be happy.

At the end of the unit you will:
- have learned/repeated some basic analytical methods
- have met some examples of classic Romantic poetry
- be able to discuss an abstract concept - happiness - on the basis of fiction and non-fiction sources and to make comparisons between different countries.

In this unit we focus on business communication and pay special attention to 'tone of voice' in branding. The American company Mail Chimp is used as case.

At the end of the unit you will:

- have revisited the definition of what a brand is

- have gained insight into analysis of advertisements

Titel 7 Stone Cold. Homelessness in the UK (EKSAMENSEMNE)

The unit revolves around the novel Stone Cold by Robert Swindells. A focal point of the unit is homelessness in the UK and what can be done to prevent it. Another focal point is literary analysis of the novel.

At the of the unit you will:

- be able to analyse the novel using basic analytical terms for fiction (plot, composition, setting, character, narrator, point of view, language, style, title, theme)
- be able to discuss the different ways different media deal with the problem of homelessness (novel, documentary, and film)
- have been introduced to The Big Issue and other initiatives to end homelessness
