For at undgå misforståelser til eksamen er der oprettet et selvstændigt forløb kun med de hjemmesider der er brugt i forbindelse med undervisningen og som derfor må tilgås til eksamen. (Eleverne skal kopiere efterfølgende links og indsætte dem i et dokument. Dette skal gemmes lokalt på deres computer, således at det er tilgængeligt til eksamen, hvor eleverne kan kopiere linksene fra dokumentet.)

Black Lives Matter (what started it, what it’s about; speeches and rhetorical analysis);
History of African-American Music;
Rap music and its social commentary (including Tupac and new rap artists)


FOCUS: We have had several focus points in our work with the novel:  a general understanding of racial issues in the US; the novel - how Starr develops and how she becomes braver and steps up; the novel - how racism is shown in the novel, Starr's identity, how she moves in 2 different worlds and how she copes with this.

FOCUS: A central focus point has been on the American Dream in general and also how it relates to Gatsby's personal dream in The Great Gatsby.  Our focus with the novel has been both literary (for ex. the relationship between characters and setting; narrative technique) and thematic - what motivated Gatsby to become the man he became?  We have also related the novel to Modernism including alienation, portrayal of working class and subjectivity/subjective narrator.

(background work:  text "Officers Mess" and students made their own British Empire Fun Facts Quizzes in groups)




FOCUS: We have looked at how Kipling presents his idea of the British Empire differently in his poem and his short story, including how the Empire has a great responsibility to civilize the natives as shown in "White Man's Burden", but also how he shows the negative side of the Empire in "Lispeth."  In Orwell's autobiographical essay, we have seen how critical Orwell is of the British Empire and its power and how he feels about being an officer of the Empire.
