USA - The Election and Immigration - Eksamensemne
In this topic we have worked with the early nation and its founding document, The Declaration of Independence.
What does this document mean today?
We have focused on the attitude to immigrants and immigration starting with The Statue of Liberty and the poem, The New Colossus.
Then we have looked at the attitude to immigration today through poetry, "A Father Tells His Son...", fiction, "Deporations at Breakfast", trailers from documentaries, immigrations stories (TED Talk and written accounts), political debates and the election.
We have worked with Martin Luther King's speech, "I Have a Dream" and we have examined the use of American icons then and now.
We have worked with the movement BLM and songs related to the fight against racism and fight for equal rights.
We have worked with the result of the election and the plans of Project 2025.
We have discussed where The United States are headed now and what it might mean for equal rights.
Essentially we have worked with the American Dream and what it means for women, men, immigrants and Black Americans.
