The Climate Crisis (eksamensemne)
A topic about the climate crisis, and how to communicate about it. We have looked at typical communication strategies when talking about climate issues. The primary focus has been on non-fiction and the concepts ethos, logos and pathos as well as the three types of speeches - informative, persuasive and special occasion speeches. As a contrast we have also watched the short film "Sol" in order to discuss the difference between using fiction and non-fiction to communicate about the climate crisis.
The students have also tried many different genres (memes, GRWM, TikTok videoes, weather report etc.) themselves in order to try to get people to act on current climate concerns.

WWI (eksamensemne)
We have focused on the literature of WWI in Great Britain and the changing attitudes to war that the texts show. The students have been introduced to the parties of the war, the writers' roles in the war, the causes of the war, expectations, how the war was fought and its consequences. A particular focus has been on learning the vocabulary of war as well as on how to analyse poems.

We have focused on the typical elements of the genre as well as typical elements in the novel as a genre. We have also look at YA subgenres like dystopian fiction and crime fiction.
