SRP1 Social Media -Exam
This theme will be about how our lives are affected by social media and will be read in collaboration with social sciences. We will read texts about the negative and positive consequences social media has on us. In regard to negative consequences of social media, pupils will also work in groups at the argumentation behind conspiracy theories such as anitvaxxers, Q-Annon and Flat Earthers in regard to the spread of extreme views. They will also see the film The Social Dilemma which deals with the consequences that social media has on society.

Great Briton
The focus of this theme is to teach students about English culture as preperation for an exchange program where half of the class' pupils will be staying in Brighton for a month. In this regard we will work with building intercultural understanding. Pupils will work in groups on mini-projects that each focus on different areas within English culture that are culturally different from Denmark.
Furthermore, we will work with a couple texts from the UK that help them understand what it feels like to be culturally different in British society as well as the different dialects in the UK. In continuation of the theme, we will look at how English has become a global language.

SRP 4 Class in the UK and the US
This theme will focus on English and American society in collaboration with social sciences in preparation of their trips to Brighton and New York and Washington D.C. The texts we will work on will give an understanding of the inequality that exists in the two countries through the texts that we read. We will look at the difference between the upper class, middle class and working class in the UK. Furthermore, we will look at the concept of The American Dream and how this is different from the British understanding of class.

Gothic and Modern Day Horror - Exam
The class will be working with the genre of horror. We wills start by looking at Gothic literature and the elements that define the genre. In this connection the students will analyze extracts from the novel Dracula and read Edgar Allan Poe's poem "The Raven". This will be followed by characteristics that define the genre of horror today and how it mirrors the mind. Furthermore they will be introduced to the 5 basic fears that the horror genre plays into. Pupils will work in groups on a presentation of their analysis a horror movie of their choice.

SRP 7 Gender - Exam
This theme will be read in collaboration with social sciences. Pupils will learn about gender inequality in their social science classes and in English they will be analyzing texts using a feministic reading approach. The pupils will look at how gender is represented in different texts. We will be working with semantic fields in the music lyrics and newspaper articles. They will learn to identify positive and negative connotations that are applied to describe gender as well as themes regarding gender. Pupils will learn about the term the male gaze and how this can be seen in music videoes. The pupils will also learn about American minimalism and read stories that show the alienation and masculinity in Raymond Carver's texts.

Postmodernism & Fight Club - Exam
The focus of this theme is newer postmodern literature and the characteristics of this movement. Pupils will read the novel "Fight Club" by Chuck Palahnuik. Other texts the pupils will read within in the genre is the short story "Suzie and Choo Choo's day in New York" by Liz Jensen and an extract of Bret Easton Ellis' "American Psycho". We will especially look at the unreliable narrator, fragmentation and black humor used in the texts.

I forløb om Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet er der fokus på selve stykket, tragedien som genre og dens plot struktur med fem akter.
I forløbet inddrages baggrundsviden om Elizabethan Era og teatrets rolle, samt Shakespeares liv. Derudover arbejdes med begreberne stage direction, aside, foreshadowing, monologue, dialogue, soliloquy, imagery, Sonnet, iambic pentameter, tragic hero og tragic flaw.
