Aspects of America (eksamensemne)
This introduces the students to different aspects of America in history and in literature. The first focus point is early colonies (puritans and pilgrims) and frontier life and how these have shaped American values and self-image. In continuation of this, we have discussed what values dominate American culture and thinking today. Furthermore, we have worked on understanding the American political system.

Poverty & Privilege: Race & Class in the UK (Eks)
The focus of this theme is to give insight into the less privileged parts of the population of the UK. The theme began with an attempt to define British national identity, including the British Empire and stereotypical perceptions of Britishness. The first part proper then focused on race and the Windrush Generation, whereas the second part focused on class. Bridging the gap between these two aspects of Britain was the novel "Hello Mum". The students also worked on understanding the British political parties and how Parliament works.
