South Africa EKSAMENSEMNE
Theme about South Africa with focus on the apartheid period.
The class has read texts about the historical background of South Africa and the Dutch settlers, the living conditions for black people during apartheid, the protests against apartheid and Nelson Mandela.
The focus has been on working with non-fiction tetxs, and the class has also worked with written assignments including summary, analysis and discussion of non-fiction texts related to the theme.
At the end of the theme we watched the film "Invictus" which focuses on Mandela using the Rugby World Cup in 1995 to unite the peoples of South Africa as one nation.
