Aspects of Britain - EKSAMEN
I dette forløb beskæftiger vi os med forskellige sider af Storbritannien med særligt fokus på de sociale forhold og klasseforskelle. Vi kommer ind på de samfundsmæssige og politiske forhold i 1980erne, og hvordan det påvirkede velstanden. Vi ser i den forbindelse filmen "This Is England", som også portrætterer det politiske landskab, kløfter mellem forskellige subkulturer (inkl. forskellige typer af skin heads) og den rebelske attitude hos ungdommen, særligt i arbejderklassen. Sidst i forløbet zoomer vi ind på 1990erne og Brit Pop som fænomen og en måde at opbygge en fælles britisk identitet. Her har vi også særligt fokus på klasse i sangteksterne. Forløbet slutter med et kort projekt i grupper, hvor grupperne hver vælger en nyhed med fokus på "poverty in Britain today", som præsenteres for resten af klassen.
