This topic study will focus on the process of becoming a presidential candidate, and the two party system of America. We have focused on the current president Donald J. Trump and his contestant Joe Biden, and the rhetorics they employ, as well as what segment of voters they adress with the level of their speech. We have also focused on the media coverage of the candidates and especially the rhetoric of the campaign ads.
To further enhance the understanding, the students have produced their own campaign ads directed at either a democratic or a republican audience, and they have battled it out for the presidency through a 3 hour long board game called "Battle for Presidency".

The following notions have been central to the topic course: 3 requirements for the presidential candidate (the delegate), primaries and caucuses, national conventions, the general election, the electoral college, 538 electoral votes, 270 to win, inauguration day, two party system, swing states, types of campaign ads.

Titel J Unreliable Narrators (EKSAMEN)

In this topic course, the students will be presented with unreliable narrators in litterature and movies. In general, we have focused on how stories build a narrative, fx by using a diegetic or non-diegetic narrator, a 1st or 3rd person narrator, and what role point of view plays in all of this.
We have drawn on the theory of Wayne C. Booth to characterise and understand the unreliable narrator, and how (s)he presents herself; either in the beginning of the story or in a twist ending. The students have worked with being able to distinguish between deliberately- and undeliberately unreliable narrators from the author's subtle clues, and have used William Riggan's following five categories of narrators for that purpose:
- the Picaro
- the Naive
- the Liar
- the Madman
- the Clown

As well as Martin and Phelans six subtypes, where the narrator can either; misreport, misinterpret, misevaluate or underreport, underinterpret or underevaluate.
