Titel 1	Stephen King and horror fiction LÆRINGSMÅL: The course will serve as an introduction to the horror genre and discuss its appeal and how it may be defined. In particular, we will focus on some of its central elements such as setting, atmosphere, foreshadowing, creation of suspense, plot etc. Furthermore, we will try to identify aspects that are characteristic to Stephen King’s style of writing such as the terror/horror/gross out, environment and character. It will also introduce Sigmund Freud's division of the human psyche into the id, th egeo and the superego.
