Et forløb om centrale amerikanske værdier, der centrerer sig om paradokset vedrørende den enorme amerikanske diversitet over for fælles holdninger, værdier og normer mm. Der arbejdes med de grundlæggende værdier indledningsvist, hvorefter fokus er på at kunne identificere disse værdier i forskelligartede tekster. Der fokuseres på (strukturelle) udfordringer i det amerikanske samfund i dag.
