Canada and first nations eksamensemne
Forløbet fokuserer på de stereotyper, fordomme og ensidige forestillinger om indfødte kulturer den vestlige kulturs overherredømme kan medføre. Fokus vil ligge på at undersøge konsekvenser af dette for First Nations i Canada og Native Americans i USA. I kølvandet på dette står temaerne som identitet og selvforståelse, racisme og selverkendelse centralt.
Igennem hele forløbet vil Chimamanda Ngozi Adichies TED Talk ‘The danger of a single story’ fungere som ramme for perspektivering i forhold til hvad det kan betyde ikke at føle sig repræsenteret, eller misrepræsenteret i litteratur og kultur.
I forløbet vil eleverne arbejdet med mange forskellige strukturer til at understøtte ‘critical thinking’, herunder visuelle redskaber som OnePagers mm.
