Titel 2	True Believer - Coming of Age The unit focuses on the concept 'Coming of Age' in the novel True Believer (Virginia Euwer Wolff, 2001) At the end of the unit you will be able to: - identify, analyse and discuss the characteristics of a 'coming of age' story - use a vocabulary to describe the difference between 'coming of age' and 'loss of innoncence' - describe the structure of a coming of age story and draw comparisons to a fairytale The unit focuses on the stucture of the novel True Believer and compares it to a fairytale. The unit opens with a screening of the coming of age-film Stand by Me (1986). You will study and compare the structure and themes in the film to the structure and themes in the novel. We will then watch Snow White and The Huntsman (2012) and compare it to True Believer. You will draw parallels between the novel and the two films and make conclusions about a coming of age story. Titel 3	Crime in Fiction The unit will look at different ways crime is expressed and presented to the reader and the viewer. Special analytical attention is paid to a literary classic and a modern short story, both within the genre of crime fiction. We will focus on characters, setting and point of view/narration. Another focal point is the introduction of film analysis. Titel 6

Class in the UK EKSAMEN

I forløbet "Class in the UK" vil vi dykke ned i de klasseskel, der findes i UK med fokus på, hvad disse klasseskel betyder for det enkelte menneske.

Vi lægger ud med 1800-tals dramaet "Pride & Prejudice" og springer så i tid til samtidens UK med, bl. a.  dokumentaren "A Tale of Two Kensingtons: London og Liverpool... and the 2015 Election's Inequality  Gap", samt novellen "The River Underground".

Forløbet afsluttes med Ken Loach'  nutidige, socialrealistiske dokudrama "I, Daniel Blake" fra 2016, hvor begreberne 'kafkaesque', 'the North-South divide' og 'the digital divide' introduceres..

I forløbet ser vi desuden på syv nyere klassebetegnelser, der i højere grad dækker et moderne samfund og forsøger at placere os selv i systemet!

Et af målene med forløbet er bl.a. at forstå det komplekse klassebegreb samt at kunne skelne mellem klasserne i nutidens UK.

Et andet mål er at udvikle en større forståelse for betydningen af klasser for såvel det enkelte individ i UK, som for det britiske samfund samt at udvikle elevernes ordforråd inden for disse områder.

From the Civil Rights Movement to BLM EKSAMEN

I dette forløb vil der være fokus på de sortes kamp for lige rettigheder i USA.

Forløbet er kronologisk og tager sit udgangspunkt i borgerrettighedskampene i 1950erne og 1960erne og afsluttes med Black Lives Matter bevægelsen i nutidens USA.
Begreberne "systemic racism", "POC", "WOK" "MOC" og "BIPOC" indgår i forløbet.

Vi vil desuden arbejde videre med forskellige analysemetoder, som blev introduceret i 1.g så som  Ciceros pentagram og retorisk analyse.

Titel 8

India EKSAMEN

I dette forløb vil vi arbejde med en række forskellige aspekter af indisk kultur.

Vi lægger ud med en række elevoplæg om diverse aspekter af indisk kultur og historie. Samtidigt med præsentationerne vil vi arbejde med et uddrag af  romanen "Untouchable", hvor vi vil inddrage teorien om "Historical criticism" samt begreberne "dichotomy", "eurocentrism" og "ethnocentrism" og vi vil læse et uddrag af romanen Are you experienced med fokus på den litterære analyse.

I forløbet indgår desuden en dokumentar om kastesystemet i nutidens Indien. Dokumentaren har særligt fokus på Dalits og på udviklingen i kastesystemet.

Vi afslutter med filmdramaet "Lion", der til dels foregår i Indien, til dels i Australien og som har fokus på identitet og tilhørsforhold og med en diskussion af, hvad der må ses som Indiens udfordringer med lingua franca.

I forløbet indgår bl.a. elevoplæg om:

3. The role of religion in India
4. The Indian caste system
5. Family life and gender roles in India
8. Infanticide in India
9.. Politics and corruption in India
10. India as a BRICS country

Målet med forløbet er bl.a. at give en dybere indsigt i udfordringer i det indiske samfund, fx i f t kastesystemet og i f t køn, samt at cementere og udvikle analyseværktøjerne, der bruges til forskellige genrer.

Titel 9

Animal Farm EKSAMEN

Årets værkforløb fokuserer på klassikeren Animal Farm af George Orwell og udgivet første gang i 1945.

Vi vil læse og lave litterær analyse af kapitel 1, hvorefter eleverne læser resten af værket individuelt.
Under gennemgangen vil der være fokus på de politiske aspekter værket behandler; herunder hvilke historiske personer de forskellige dyrekarakterer sandsynligvis refererer til, og værket sættes ind i sin historiske sammenhæng.
Vi vil desuden se nærmere på Orwells valg af genren dyrefabel.

I forløbet indgår en række elevoplæg efter elevernes egne valg.

Læringsmål:
- cementering af anvendelse og forståelse af den litterære analyse
- genrekendskab og genrebetydning
- udvidelse af ordforråd
