Titel 2 1 - Short Stories and Literary Terms (1p Autumn)

Forløbet var mest en øvelse i at anvende grundlæggende begreber: Genre,
language, characterization, setting, composition, point of view, narration, language, quotations. Desuden om short story-genren, om forfatterne og om de meget forskellige former for engelsk der indgår.

Who gets hurt int the climate ciris? Does knowing how people think in the Global South make a difference? Do we really care what gets destroyed by the global economic system? Do we even know? Does the rich world still practice a form of colonialism?

Meget konkret etablering a grundlæggende viden om sjældent omtalte steder. Digtet Bursts of Bianca og uddraget fra The Wall blev særligt grundigt behandlet.

Is autism a disability or an type of personality? Are we thinking it right? How should society deal with it? Why is autism booming? Parenting.
A lot of close reading.
The narrative voice - an attempt to show how the minds of autistic people work.
Humour. The use of metonymies. Realist fiction. The murder mystery genre.

Math topics that play a role in the novel: Prime numbers, probability (The Monty Hall problem).
Ideals of 'the murder mystery novel', comparisons with The Hound of the Baskervilles.
On parenting: Rewriting Mother’s Letter (the first one). Rewriting the scene in which Father spills the beans.
Discussing how society (schools and private companies) ought to deal with people on the autism spectrum.
