Titel 10	Eng as a Global Language & Postcolonialism OPGIVES TIL EKSAMEN Vi fokuserer på English as a Global Language og RP (udtale og status) samt på den postkoloniale litterære bølge i de tidligere britiske kolonier. I den forstand følger forløbet op på vores tidligere forløb om The Rise and Fall of UK Then and Now. Undervejs undersøges hvad der menes med betegnelsen "postkolonialisme" og hvordan denne betegnelse kan siges at reflektere de førhen kolonialiserede nationers identitetsfølelse i dag. Titel 11	Reading Hemingway OPGIVES TIL EKSAMEN Vi læser 4 udvalgte noveller af Ernest Hemingway: "Indian Camp" (1925), "Hills like White Elephants" (1927), "Soldier's Home" (1925) samt "A Clean, Well-Lighted Place" (1933) med særligt fokus på Hemingway's skrivestil og novellernes modernistiske træk. Forløbet er rent analogt, dvs at teksterne udleveres på papir og læses sammen i modulerne. Fokus er på tekst-analyse og -fortolkning, ikke mindst i forhold til symboler. Desuden læses 2 Raymond Carver -noveller, "One More Thing" (1982 ) og "They're Not Your Husband" (1976), som eksempler på den post-Hemingway definerede genre "Minimalism". Additionally we examine the book as an example of postmodern literature. OPGIVES TIL EKSAMEN

I dette forløb ser vi på en udbredt og meget populær genre: Krimi-genren. Vi fokuserer især på genrens historiske udspring og udvikling og på forskellene mellem traditionel engelsk "whodunnit" og hårdkogt amerikansk detective-fiction i genrens såkaldte "gyldne periode" fra 1914-45.
Der kan perspektiveres til det foregående forløb om Fight Club og postmodernisme, idet krimiens popularitet ses som en funktion af det moderne - og postmoderne - (storbymenneskes) søgen efter mening og sammenhæng i en fragmenteret verden.
