Emne: The English and the World (Grundf)
Alle 1.g-klasser på Svendborg Gymnasium arbejder i grundforløbet med tekster, der passer til temaet ”The English and the World”. I forløbet kommer vi rundt til forskellige tidligere kolonier og fokus er på det engelske sprog og dets historie, tekstanalyse og grammatiske emner, specielt ordklasser. Der arbejdes primært med analyse af fiktion og eleverne har derfor specielt arbejdet med personkarakteristik, temaer, fortællestil, stemning, budskab og billedsprog. De er også blevet introduceret til PEE-argumentation
