EKSAMEN Island Voices: Jamaica
I dette kursus lærer vi om Vestindiens og især Jamaicas historie, især i relation til Storbritanniens historie. Vi arbejder med både skønlitterære og faglitterære tekster, sange, poesi og en dokumentarfilm.
Derudover arbejder vi med sproglig variation og udvikling, herunder både indflydelsen af det engelske sprog i Jamaica og indflydelsen af jamaicansk sprog i London (Multicultural London English).
Metodisk er der fokus på analyse af skønlitteratur: New Criticism; analyse af sangtekster;
analyse af faglitteratur: Kommunikationsanalyse; retorisk analyse; analyse af et essay (i dette tilfælde et debatindlæg)
