Our first major 'Literary Work' of the year is a collection of Charlotte Perkins Gilman's short stories.

The anthology you have been provided with contains short stories taken from "The Yellow Wall-Paper and Other Stories" (2009 - Oxford World's Classics Edition) and we will be covering a wide range of her texts from this collection.

Titel 5 LW4: Edgar Allan Poe

In this unit we will combine the 4th Literary Work (Edgar Allan Poe's short stories) with our 5th Body of Work (The Fall of the House of Usher - A Netflix series).

These two works are not selected with direct comparison in mind but to give you another approach to, for example, Gilman's short stories. There will be a heavy focus on the Gothic genre and its conventions. But the most important take-away of this unit will be the reading and close analysis skills you develop which will impact your engagement with the IOA and IB2 content next year.
