Titel 1	Intro Topic - TCKs + BOW: Bend It Like Beckham This topic introduces a number of text types that you will come across in your English classes. We work with these in connection with a thematic exploration of what it means to be a TCK. Titel 4	Literary work: Short stories by Margaret Atwood This topic deals with a selection of short stories by Margaret Atwood from the two shot story collections "The Tent" and "Good Bones and Simple Murders." Our focus is to explore the communication of the author to the reader through the text through analysis with subject specific terminology. We will also deal with intertextuality and discuss global issues. Titel 5	HL Only. Literary Work: H. A. Fairytales In this unit, we explore selected fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen. Once again we rehearse analysis with subject specific terminology of prose fiction and more specifically the fairy tale genre. We will also discuss global issues and we will have a special focus on the application of schools literary criticism: reader-response, feminism, marxism, psycho-analysis and biographical. Titel 13	Literary Work: Chronicle of a Death Foretold This topic studies Gabriel Garcia Márquez' novel "Chronicle of a Death Foretold".
