Titel 1 Intro Topic - TCKs + BOW: Bend It Like Beckham

This topic introduces a number of text types that you will come across in your English classes. We work with these in connection with a thematic exploration of what it means to be a TCK.

Within this topic, we also deal with our first non-literary body of work (BOW): Gurinder Chadha's "Bend It Like Beckham"

In this topic we study a non-literary body of work comprising a selection of Benetton print adverts with photographs by Olivieri Toscani. This topic deals with a selection of short stories by Margaret Atwood from the two shot story collections "The Tent" and "Good Bones and Simple Murders." Titel 11 Literary Work: Chronicle of a Death Foretold

This topic studies Gabriel Garcia Márquez' novel "Chronicle of a Death Foretold".

We focus especially on active reading with while-reading tasks and analysis as well as student-guided lesson content in order to increase individual responsibility in preparations for revision, exams and the overall goal of the mature appreciation of language and literature.

We also focus on Paper 2 relevant approaches with regards to essay structure and analysis.
