The unit is primarily student-led and encourages discussion of poets and inter-group activities which stem from core tasks which can be applied to each collection.

In our first non-literary unit of 3u, we will focus exclusively on Paper 1 and the following text types that have been grouped together due to their conventional authorial choices:
- Advertisement
- Appeal
- Article
- Opinion Column
- Letter
- Speech
- Magazine Article
- Travelogue

We will cover each text type from the perspective of their authorial choices and constantly compare and contrast them to one another to reinforce your ability to apply relevant terminology and analyse/evaluate it according to the content of each text given to you. There will also be between 1-4 samples of Prior P1 exams we will work with.

Our next literary work is Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray.

The first stages of our unit will be focusing on comprehension, reading, and interpretation. The middle to latter parts will concentrate on analysis and interpretation of key passages and how to utilise these best in a Paper 2 exam.

There will be roughly 3-5 lessons during this unit, which will be HL only due to the HLE.
