Titel 1 AP - Grammar

Latin: The Latin unit introduces the pupils to the Latin language, basic Latin grammar and texts, loanwords and cognates and Roman culture. The aim of the unit is to help the pupils develop their curiosity about languages, reading comprehension, and language analysis skills. By comparing and contrasting English and Latin, a language that in several aspects differs from English, the pupils get a better understanding of how different languages operate and make sense, and that languages are bearers of culture.

English: The AP grammar unit is designed to ensure that all pupils have a secure understanding of English grammar. The lessons will help your writing ability in all subjects and will impact your future assignments at BG.

If, at some point in the future, you find that the IB system is not the right fit for you, you must pass the AP exam to enable you to switch to STX/HF at BG.

We will cover: word classes, sentences, clauses, punctuation, tenses, conditionals and reflexives, modals and comparatives/superlatives, and finally homonyms and stresses.
