Stephen Fry’s 2020 podcast series 7 Deadly Sins. Listen to the first half (about 16 minutes) of the "Introduction" (episode 1). As you are a digitally native, you can probably find this podcast:) I found it on Spotify myself.
1. Research Stephen Fry. Create a mini-biography of him.
Find Stephen Fry's "Seven Deadly Sins" (I use Spotify) and listen to the first 20 minutes of "Lust" (where there is an interval), then write a 100-word summary.
Find and listen to the first half of Fry's podcast on "Envy" (until it says "short interval"), then write a short summary of what you have heard so far.
Forms of appeal: ethos, logos, pathosAllusions/intertextualityAlliteration/Assonance/Prosody (sound)EtymologyMetaphors/metonymsListsAnaphoraHigh style vs Low styleDialogue through monologue (polyphonic)SwearingContrast
Listen to Fry's "Wrath" until 12:30 (where there is a short interval.
From one of the podcast episodes, find at least two examples of style that you haven't found already so that you can bring something new to the group table today.
